Looking at a similar location for one of Portland’s Safe Rest Villages, you can see on the crime map that it is a hotspot of activity.

Since the site has opened drug dealing and crime has seeped out into the neighborhood around the village.

Despite Portland’s promise of no camps within 1,000 feet of a Safe Rest Village, new camps have popped up. They are on railroad property so the city says they can’t remove them, the rail company says they lack the resources to do anything about it.
